Kevin Green is a fourth-generation Beaver Islander with Arranmore salt still lingering somewhere in his DNA. A history-and-economics enthusiast by choice and a Corporate America escapee by triumph, he now devotes his days to “expertly” evaluating Irish whiskey (his words, not anyone else’s). When he’s not pretending to know more than he does, he’s wishing he were waist-deep in a trout stream, where at least the fish don’t fact-check him.

Ron Gregg was born on Beaver Island, Michigan, shortly after his parents, Phil and Lil Gregg, made the island their home. Growing up among its families, woods, and waters, he developed a lasting appreciation for the people and the landscape that shape life in small, close-knit communities.
After college, Ron enlisted in the U.S. Army, and he and his wife Ann spent the next two decades moving across the country, raising their family along the way. Following his military career, he settled in Clarksville, Tennessee, where he worked in manufacturing until retiring in 2022.
Today, Ron divides his time between reading, woodworking, and tending his yard, while returning often to Beaver Island to visit his children who now live there and to spend time with his lifelong friends in the place that first taught him the value of listening closely and remembering well.
